No, it's NOT "a matter of personal opinion"…
All humans are born as children with a selfish nature, driven and motivated by the sins of PRIDE and ENVY… "I'm better than others because of how I look, what I've got, what I've done, and who I'm with… ie: ARROGANCE. "The pride of your heart has deceived you." "The pride before the FALL." You were born with a prideful heart which gives an anti-god state of mind… the opposite of humility. Competition is rooted in PRIDE AND ENVY… proving that one is "better" than another based on some "game".
THE REALITY IS THAT NO ONE IS "BETTER THAN" ANYONE ELSE… WE ARE ALL EQUALLY IMPERFECT BEFORE GOD, yet our selfish nature wants to "prove myself" to myself and others… and it's NEVER ENOUGH, NEVER FULFILLED. ONLY GOD's HOLY SPIRIT CAN FULFILL THAT "GOD-SHAPED VOID"… not money, fame, family, entertainment, pleasure, nor false religion. The fact that one has NOT found fulfillment in God is proof positive that one NEEDS TO BE BORN AGAIN. (Jn 3:3)
We are ALL BORN SEEKING "Happiness," "Fulfillment," "Satisfaction" which we FALSELY THINK can be found through GETTING money, pleasure, power, possessions, physical appearance… BUT THOSE ARE NEVER ENOUGH!!!! …ALWAYS SEARCHING AND PURSUING "HAPPINESS"… WHY? WHAT IS THE MISSING PIECE OF THIS PUZZLE?!?! Jesus Christ's Holy Spirit of PEACE, ONLY RECEIVED BY BEING "BORN AGAIN."
If you BELIEVE that GOD TRULY EXISTS, then you must also BELIEVE that the WORD OF GOD (Bible) is 100% TRUTH, and that there really is an ETERNAL HEAVEN that "few" go to, and an ETERNAL HELL that ALL OTHERS GO TO… FOREVER.
After all, The Bible says that ALL HUMANS ARE "MADE IN THE IMAGE OF GOD" with AN ETERNAL SOUL that RESIDES ETERNALLY IN HEAVEN: "few", or HELL: all the rest.
If you live to be 100 years old, that is NOTHING, a microsecond, compared to ETERNITY SO BEING ONE OF THE "FEW" GOING TO HEAVEN IS TRUE SUCCESS!! NOBODY WHO ENDS UP IN ETERNAL HELL WAS "TRULY SUCCESSFUL" IN LIFE ON EARTH… NOBODY.
YES, TRUE SUCCESS IN LIFE IS THE SAME GOAL FOR EVERYONE, and was DETERMINED BY YOUR CREATOR, GOD!
SO WHO DOES JESUS TELL US IN THE BIBLE ACTUALLY GOES TO HEAVEN?????
The Chosen represents Jesus and Nicodemus' conversation in John 3 as such:
John 3:3 - Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
Jesus is ALIVE today and He says in the FLAWLESS, TIMELESS WORD OF GOD that "you must be born again" or "converted."
THIS IS NOT A RELIGION OR DENOMINATION THAT "YOU CHOOSE"… That's Churchianity… FALSE RELIGION! TRUE CHRISTIANITY is an actual LIFE/HEART CHANGING ENCOUNTER WITH GOD/THE HOLY SPIRIT, which changes a person from a SIN/SELF LOVER/PROMOTER into a SIN/SELF HATER into a CHRIST PROMOTER. Do you promote yourself and your church or do you share your own PERSONAL TESTIMONY OF CONVERSION with others?… and are you often REJECTED AND PERSECUTED for doing so, as Christ and his disciples were?
Once a person truly REPENTS, ("deny self/take up your cross/follow Me") and is BORN AGAIN, with God's Holy Spirit of LOVE ❤ (justified), he/she is "MADE ALIVE" into a "NEW CREATION" like a caterpillar 🐛 into a butterfly! 🦋 He/she then begins a TRUE LOVE ❤ RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD TO BECOME MORE LIKE CHRIST by "dying to self" more and more (sanctification) as GOD's HOLY SPIRIT LIVES/WORKS THROUGH YOU as John the Baptist said:
Then one's MOTIVATION IS CHANGED from the selfish envy/pride/greed and self promotion of every child and the world, TO BEING MOTIVATED BY YOUR NEW INTERNAL WHOLEHEARTED LOVE OF GOD AND TO WORSHIP & GLORIFY HIM! WHILE TELLING OTHERS OF THE MIRACULOUS CHANGE GOD DID IN YOU, SO THEY MIGHT ALSO SEEK TO BE BORN AGAIN!

Now for the GOOD NEWS, the GOSPEL… CHRIST LIVED THE PERFECT LIFE FOR YOU, AND DIED THE DEATH ON THE CROSS THAT YOU EARNED AND DESERVE. But then does everyone go to Heaven?? 💁♂️… NOPE. You must REPENT OF / TURN AWAY FROM YOUR SINS, and SURRENDER your WHOLE HEART / LIFE ON EARTH to your TRUE CREATOR & LORD… JESUS CHRIST! LIVE FOR HIS PURPOSES, NOT YOURS!!
When you were born into this world, you TRUSTED YOURSELF, and your parents had to discipline you and provide babysitters/teachers to teach you to trust and obey them rather than YOURSELF!! We are all born self-centered, self seeking, entitled, and irresponsible SINNERS THAT DECEIVE OURSELVES. If you have lived very long at all, and you get really honest, you would have to also admit that YOU ARE YOUR GREATEST ENEMY!

Jesus knew that ALL/MEN ARE BORN SINFUL / SELFISH, so He did "not entrust Himself to man," so you and I should ONLY ENTRUST OUR SALVATION BY CHRIST ALONE, not by a pastor, priest, baptism, church, or religion.
If you were to say, "I love and trust my parents" but DON'T WANT TO OBEY THEM, then that means you DON'T REALLY LOVE OR TRUST THEM! The same is true for God… if you say, "I love and trust God," but DON'T STUDY, TRUST, and OBEY GOD's WORD (the Bible), then that means you don't really love or trust God and you MUST BE BORN AGAIN TO KNOW AND LOVE HIM!
Does Church save me?

John 14:6 - Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Before one can have true saving faith in Christ, one must first Repent / Turn From Sin / Self. Turn from the false faith of "good behavior," "good works," church attendance/affiliation, church "membership," faith in a pastor's baptism, faith in church "confirmation," charitable donations, etc.
Turning from false faith in what everyone / everything you can see, humbly repenting / turning from your sins, surrendering your heart / life to Christ, and trusting only in salvation by Christ alone that is unseen.
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Water baptism is an outward public proclamation in water of going from "death to life", being buried in death and raised to new life in Christ. It is meant to be a symbol of already being Spiritually reborn BEFORE WATER BAPTISM.
Pastors often baptize people, even youth or infants, without examining or even asking them if they have been born again. This is why most people that are baptized by pastors today, to become a "member" of their church, GET WET… BUT NOT SAVED. They tragically have a false faith in just water baptism and "church membership" that can have ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES.
Unfortunately, many churches are leading people to hell by omitting the truth. They are not preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ that leads to repentance and salvation.
Most church pastors "tickle the ears" so that attendees will "feel good" and become a regularly attending and DONATING "member". Controversial or convicting sermons have the opposite effect and hurt "the business" so are avoided in order to "please the people." Over the centuries, many pastors even preached pro-slavery and race separation in churches and schools, all to keep their jobs in the pulpit. This is why Galatians 1:10 says:
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
One cannot be both a people pleaser and a God pleaser. Speaking the truth of God like "you must be born again" will actually result in REJECTION AND PERSECUTION by many people, ESPECIALLY BY MANY PHARISEE PEOPLE PLEASING PASTORS FOR PROFIT, just as Christ and his disciples/followers have been over the past 2000 years.
Similarly, very few pastors ask or make sure that men and women are BOTH BORN AGAIN WITH THE LOVE OF GOD BEFORE MARRYING THE COUPLE!
THIS IS MARITAL MALPRACTICE!!
If a person does not yet have a genuine reborn love relationship with God,
then that person cannot even love/forgive oneself unconditionally,
and certainly cannot love/forgive a spouse “till death do us part.”
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE REQUIRES FORGIVENESS…
and FORGIVENESS REQUIRES THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD's LOVE UPON BEING BORN AGAIN…
In fact, it makes NO SENSE to make vows to God until one has a GENUINE LOVE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, WHICH FIRST REQUIRES BEING BORN AGAIN. Until then, scripture tells us that one is SEPARATED FROM GOD AND HE DOESN'T EVEN LISTEN TO SINNERS UNTIL WE ARE GIVEN THE HOLY SPIRIT…
Pastors marrying people that are NOT BORN AGAIN EXPLAINS WHY THE DIVORCE RATE OF CHURCHGOERS IS THE SAME AS THE SECULAR WORLD…
ALWAYS LOOKING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES… through fallen people.
TRUE BIBLICAL GODLY LOVE IS “GIVING / FORGIVING / SERVING OTHERS EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN,” BUT THIS REQUIRES THE GRACE OF GOD's HOLY SPIRIT RECEIVED UPON BEING BORN AGAIN… NOT FALSE FAITH IN CHURCH, PASTOR, BAPTISM, or WEDDING VOWS. Sadly, most marriages that begin with a pastor in a church, end up in a courtroom with TRAGIC LIFELONG NEGATIVE EFFECTS ON CHILDREN.
This is why scripture instructs that MARRIAGE IS ONLY FOR BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS who are also instructed “do not be unequally yoked with nonbelievers.” To ignore this is MINISTERIAL MALPRACTICE for pastors seeking to simply “grow the church,” so this means that YOU MUST BE THE ONE TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE BORN AGAIN BEFORE YOU SEEK A BORN AGAIN SPOUSE… that is the recipe for a lifelong marriage and a secure loving family that serves God… the vast minority in churches today because few are BORN AGAIN.
THIS IS WHY MOST CHURCH PASTORS DON'T PREACH THESE WORDS OF JESUS,…"YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN." Christ and his disciples established ONE CHURCH made up of ONLY THOSE BORN AGAIN.
The stone inscription at the entrance to this early Christian church reads that "ONLY those on the RIGHTEOUS PATH may enter here," meaning that ONLY THOSE WHO ARE BORN AGAIN WITH THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD's HOLY SPIRIT ARE WELCOME, and they were called to go out into the lost world to share the true gospel of being converted/born again upon genuine repentance. This is the OPPOSITE OF TODAYS CHURCHES WHO ARE LARGELY OPEN TO THE WORLD AND RARELY SPEAK OF THE TRUE GOSPEL OF SPIRITUAL REBIRTH.
In fact, new converts, like Paul on the road to Damascus in Acts 9, were required to convince the church leaders that he had been BORN AGAIN, before he was admitted, because TRUE BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS WERE BEING PERSECUTED AND EVEN KILLED BY THE FALSE CHURCH LEADERS. But over the centuries, the ONE TRUE CHURCH SPLIT into countless "denominations" THAT NOW COMPETE WITH EACH OTHER TO ATTRACT "MEMBERS" AND DONORS TO PAY THEIR SALARIES, some much HIGHER THAN THE AVERAGE MEMBER!
Whether it's a people-pleasing politician or a PEOPLE PLEASING PASTOR FOR PROFIT. Whether it's a people pleasing prostitute, or a people pleasing politician, or a PEOPLE PLEASING PASTOR FOR PROFIT, ALL ARE MOTIVATED FOR PERSONAL GAIN, BUT NOT LOVE WHICH IS CHARITY, GIVING, SERVING, FORGIVING EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN.
Most pastors today have REWRITTEN THE TRUE GOSPEL by preaching that one can simply "accept Jesus," get baptized, and become a church member …in order to go to heaven. THIS IS FALSE TEACHING!
Whereas, those who are born again and NOT on a church salary, like this team in Indiana, gladly accept the ridicule of many and tell others their own testimonies of conversions… FOR FREE!
TRUE BORN AGAIN PASTORS preach "you must be born again" as JESUS SAID. FALSE TEACHERS ARE NOT BORN AGAIN SO THEY CAN'T… SO THEY ARE CHURCH PROMOTING FUND RAISERS.. like the PHARISEES of the Bible who PERSECUTED CHRIST and HIS FOLLOWERS/PROPHETS.
One doesn't "accept Christ;" one must FULLY HUMBLY REPENT to be BORN AGAIN and RECEIVE GOD's HOLY SPIRIT, which is a SUPERNATURAL ACT OF GOD.
We don't "choose" Him… HE CHOOSES US! He knows every heart and when one TRULY REPENTS… THAT'S WHEN YOU ARE BORN AGAIN!
Paul and the disciples WORKED DAY AND NIGHT to keep from accepting money which alters one's motives, so they could keep their hearts MOTIVATED ONLY BY LOVE.
When a church is run as a "nonprofit business" that funds the salaries and livelihoods of its leaders and their families, it becomes IMPERATIVE that the ATTENDEES LIKE THE LEADERS AND ENJOY THE CHURCH "EXPERIENCE," so that ATTENDANCE and DONATIONS WILL CONTINUE TO FUND "THE BUSINESS."
This also leads pastors to AVOID DIVISIVE SCRIPTURES SUCH AS BEING "BORN AGAIN" (John 3:3), "WIVES SUBMIT TO YOUR HUSBANDS AS TO THE LORD" (Ephesians 5:22), and church discipline for the SEXUALLY IMMORAL (1 Corinthians 5:9). Therefore, most people that are baptized, donating, "members" of a church are never asked about nor required to be "born again" before baptism and are thus, DECEIVED INTO HAVING FALSE FAITH IN THEIR CHURCH, NOT TRUE SAVING FAITH THAT ONLY COMES FROM BEING BORN AGAIN.
This is also why the WORSHIP TIME during most churches is largely DEAD with mostly spectating like a concert rather than singing praise and worship to the GOD WHO SAVES, BY REBIRTH. Yes, most churches today are competing for "members" and there aren't enough true born again worshipping Christians to pay the salaries and bills, so the membership requirements are made much easier, "pray a prayer, get baptized, take a membership class," then one is expected to be a DONATING "COVENANT MEMBER."
The TRUE CHURCH is ONLY ALL THOSE WHO ARE BORN AGAIN, REGARDLESS OF "CHURCH DENOMINATION OR MEMBERSHIP." When Christ RAPTURES HIS CHURCH, HE WILL TAKE ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN BORN AGAIN, leaving behind many church members, pastors, priests, and even popes, THAT WERE NEVER BORN AGAIN, only to hear, "Depart from me, I never knew you."
Let's see what the Bible says…
Galatians 1:10 - Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Jesus calls us to be different from the world. We are called to be set apart. That is why we must leave our old life behind. We must be born again.
The Bible says that even the demons believe. But they are not saved.
James 2:19 - You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
True faith is a faith that produces good works. The Holy Spirit is what changes your life when you are born again. That change gives you true saving faith in Christ.
Matthew 7:16-20 - By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
Born Again makes no sense to those not Born Again. One's life must die, be "buried" in Christ and the Holy Spirit before coming to life and bearing fruit.
This scripture, Galatians 5:19-23, should now sound familiar…
① - Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
② - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Now, one is either "chained" to paragraph ①, or one is "chained" to paragraph ②. Which is it for you? But then some may say, "Well I live in paragraph 1, but I've received forgiveness". Are you sure?
Matthew 6:15 - But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
1 John 4:20 - If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.
1 John 5:18 - We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.
It means that you have a new heart and a new spirit. You are no longer the same person you were before.
It means that you are no longer living for yourself. You are now living for God.
Like a butterfly, you have been transformed from a caterpillar into a new creation. You are no longer the same person you were before. Your life will bear the fruit of the Spirit, like we saw above in Matthew 7 and Galatians 5.
ALL HUMANS WERE MADE TO HAVE A LOVE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, BUT ARE BORN SELFISH/SINFUL which BLOCKS YOU FROM KNOWING OUR HOLY GOD, and TRUE HAPPINESS can ONLY BE FOUND INTERNALLY BY BEING BORN AGAIN WITH GOD's HOLY SPIRIT. The BAD News is that WE ALL DESERVE DEATH/HELL but… The GOOD News is that JESUS, the SON OF GOD, TOOK YOUR PUNISHMENT AND PAID YOUR TICKET TO HEAVEN on the cross, BUT IN ORDER TO GO, YOU MUST TOTALLY SURRENDER YOUR BRIEF LIFE ON EARTH AND WHOLE HEART TO HIM…
Many people wear a CROSS AROUND THE NECK, FOR SHOW, which MEANS NOTHING UNLESS ONE HAS FULLY SURRENDERED ONE's HEART/LIFE TO CHRIST… and has BEEN BORN AGAIN with a TESTIMONY OF CONVERSION which one then TELLS OTHERS, as Jesus said, "Follow me and I will make you a fisher of men(souls)." Most people have BEEN DECEIVED and follow CHURCHianity, (baptism, confirmation, membership) BUT NOT TRUE CHRISTianity (BORN AGAIN)
SO, BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND ASK YOURSELF AGAIN: "WHO/WHAT IS YOUR SOURCE OF TRUTH THAT YOU USE TO MAKE YOUR DECISIONS?" HAVE YOU EVER HAD A SUPERNATURAL, LIFE CHANGING ENCOUNTER WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT THAT CHANGED YOUR HEART FROM LOVING SELF / SIN TO LOVING GOD / CHRIST / THE BIBLE?
DON'T KID YOURSELF!! If not, then you have NOT yet been BORN AGAIN… You CANNOT LOVE / FOLLOW CHRIST / GOD "with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength" (The First and Greatest Commandment) …if you DON'T LOVE GOD's WORD (THE BIBLE), DON'T have a TESTIMONY OF CONVERSION BEING SPIRITUALLY REBORN with the INNER PEACE / LOVE OF GOD which turns one from a PEOPLE PLEASER into a GOD PLEASER.
That's why Jesus told a SELF-DECEIVED, LOST CHURCH LEADER in John 3:3-7 …AND TELLS YOU AND I TODAY IN HIS HOLY BIBLE of TRUTH… "Unless a man(woman) is BORN AGAIN, he(she) will NEVER see the Kingdom of God."

Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.
It is an act of God that gives you a new heart and makes you a new creation as a child of God. It is not something you can do on your own. But you must be willing to repent and surrender your life to Him.

If you are not sure if you are born again, I encourage you to take a moment and pray. Ask God to show you the truth. Seek Him earnestly with all your heart that you may find Him and have a true relationship with God.
Jeremiah 29:12-14 - "Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you", declares the LORD, "and I will restore your fortunes and will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you," declares the LORD
Matthew 7:7-8 - “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
A lot of the music sung in our churches asks the Holy Spirit to come. Our pastor sometimes asks Him to “fall on us.” Is this biblical?
